IEE and ESI: supervision (IEE supervises ESI)
IEE and ESI are not on level ground: IEE leads with the element ESI is weakest at, and presses on it without effort or intent. Supervision has a direction, so ESI and IEE live in the same relation differently — one feels watched, the other feels interested. The compatibility is asymmetric.

§2 In practice
Where it clicks
- To both of them, bonds are facts. The IEE's creative Fi and the ESI's base Fi compare their readings of third parties. The readings line up often enough that each treats the other as a second instrument.
- When one of the IEE's boundaries needs enforcing — the client who won't pay, the guest who won't leave — the ESI's creative Se enforces it once, cleanly, as a demonstration. The IEE takes notes and then loses them.
- Their shared criterion is practical competence. Te is suggestive for the ESI and mobilizing for the IEE. On both of their lists, the friend who brings tools rates above the friend who brings theories.
- The IEE brings home a stream of new people. The ESI keeps the two worth keeping. Both call that a good yield, and their vetting standards — never discussed — turn out to mostly agree.
- Neither of them performs feeling for a room. Affection stays particular, private, and specific. Birthdays are small and correct. Neither has ever asked the other to look happier at a party.
Where it grinds
- We could rent the house out and travel, or retrain entirely, offers the IEE's base Ne. The ESI's vulnerable slot hears the ground being sold out from under standing commitments. The reply is a verdict, not a counter-idea.
- That scheme is unserious and that person is a flake, rules the ESI, fast and final. From the inside, those enthusiasms are the IEE's identity. Every verdict lands wider than it was aimed.
- The ESI's base Fi finds the IEE's creative Fi promiscuous — warmth extended to too many people, too easily, diluting the currency. The IEE finds the ESI's roster short and the door heavy. Neither audit ever gets published.
- One of them opens options to feel alive. The other closes them to feel safe. The kitchen renovation produces eleven concepts and one veto, in that order, every time.
- Decide today, presses the ESI's Se against the IEE's role slot, and it gets a decision that dissolves by Thursday. The ESI concludes that words mean nothing. The IEE concludes that pressure means nothing. They're both half right.
