What an ENFp notices first is what a person or a situation could turn into. Nobody has to ask. They'll introduce two strangers because something might come of it. They'll change direction after one good conversation, and start four things in a month. The interest is real while it lasts. Then the potential's been seen, and it moves on.
An ENFp finds the interesting thing in each person and sparks connections between kindred spirits. Rigid schemes and demands for exact definitions hit their weak spot (vulnerable Ti). They melt when someone simply takes care of their physical comfort (suggestive Si) and delight in useful know-how (mobilizing Te).

§2 How it actually goes
Strong or weak is how much capacity the seat has; valued or unvalued is whether an ENFp wants to spend time there.
The read on people is the tool an ENFp actually works with. They'll tell someone the true thing about themselves that nobody else has said out loud. And they'll pick the moment that person can hear it. Closeness is calibrated, not accidental. They're a lot more careful about who gets all the way in than the openness lets on.
When something an ENFp cares about is on the line, they'll get forceful — the firm no, the confrontation, the deadline actually held. They do it under protest. It doesn't last. A situation that needs steady pressure week after week wears them out. They'll go around it or hand it to someone else.
Rigid systems are where an ENFp comes unstuck. A rule that holds just because the framework says so reads as absurd. It leaves out the person in front of them. Having to justify their own definitions is close to unbearable. They know the thing is true. Turning it into a principle is what breaks it.
An ENFp needs someone to look after the daily texture of life. Meals at reasonable hours, a room that isn't chaos, a body that's actually been slept in. They take all of it with enormous gratitude. They almost never come up with it on their own. Left alone long enough, they run themselves down. It surprises them every time.
Show an ENFp the efficient way to do the thing — the right tool, the real procedure, the honest cost. Then an enthusiasm turns into something that might actually get finished. Progress counts for way more than its size. That's why a borrowed method beats a year of good intentions. They can't supply any of it themselves.
An ENFp can see exactly where a course leads. They just don't want to narrow down to it. The single trajectory, the ten-year plan, the decision that shuts the other doors. All of it's legible, and none of it's welcome. The forecast comes easy. Acting on it is the part that doesn't happen.
An ENFp can run a room's mood with real skill, and they hold it lightly. They'll warm a group up in minutes. They'll keep a difficult gathering moving. None of it counts as an accomplishment to them. What they're actually watching is the people in the room, one at a time. The group's mood is just the medium.

What comes easily
- Turns a chance remark at a wedding into an introduction, a collaboration, and a reason they should have met sooner (Ne).
- Finds the one interesting thread in a person everyone else at the table has written off (Ne).
- Says the accurate, unwelcome thing to a friend, having waited weeks for the hour when it lands (Fi).
- Notices who at the table has stopped talking, and gets them out of the room for ten minutes (Fi).
What costs
- Will be forceful for one afternoon over something that matters, then wants the subject closed for good (Se).
- Loses the thread of any fight that needs the same pressure applied every week for a year (Se).
- Comes apart under cross-questioning about a definition, even when the observation underneath it was sound (Ti).
- Argues from the case at hand and loses to anyone with a consistent framework and a slower voice (Ti).
What they want from other people
- Wants somebody else to pick the restaurant, decide when the evening ends, and turn the heat up before anyone asks (Si).
- Wants the running-down noticed by someone else, because the signal arrives late and dressed as a mood (Si).
- Wants the working spreadsheet handed over, not advice about getting organized, and will use it exactly as given (Te).

Socionics reads compatibility as coverage: who hands an ENFp what they cannot produce, and who presses where nothing holds.
The dual is ISTp, who keeps the house and the method running and asks for an accurate read on people.
Activation with an ESTj is bright for an evening and heavy by the third day, because the two tempos never line up.
The mirror is INFj: the same delta material in reverse order, one as craft and the other as vocation.
The conflictor is ISTj, whose demand for structure lands on the one seat an ENFp cannot defend.
Supervision comes from INTj, who asks for exact definitions without meaning any harm, and an ENFp feels watched anyway.
§5 At work
Hand an ENFp the opening: the first meeting with a client nobody has read yet, the volunteer no one can place, the project with no shape. In socionics, ENFp is at its best where the brief is loose and the people are real. Keep sustained enforcement off the desk. The nine-month performance process, the shift schedule that has to be policed, the specification argued clause by clause: none of those survive contact. Give them one colleague who owns the numbers, and say the method aloud once instead of asking them to build it.

Model A files Fe in the eighth seat for an ENFp: strong and unvalued, run constantly and claimed never. An ENFp warms a cold table, gets the silent teenager talking, and would not list any of that as work. Who is the ENFp's dual?
An ENFp's dual is ISTp. The picture is domestic and unglamorous: the ENFp comes home with four new ideas and no dinner, and the ISTp has already cooked, fixed the door, and worked out what the repair should have cost. In return the ISTp is told what the people around them actually meant. Duality is coverage of weak seats, not a promise of easy conversation.
Which quadra is ENFp in, and what does that mean?
ENFp sits in delta, with ESTj, INFj and ISTp. Delta values Ne, Fi, Si and Te: possibility, personal loyalty, physical comfort, and methods that work. No one leans on anyone. Help gets done before it is asked for, and privacy is left alone without a conversation about privacy. An ENFp who has only worked in loud, pressuring rooms often finds delta a relief.
How do I tell ENFp from ENTp?
