THE FOUR QUADRAS

Basics · part 4 of 5 · ◂ The eight functions · overview · Model A vs Model G ▸

§1 WHAT A QUADRA IS

Half of every type's seats are valued — the Ego pair it leads with and the Super-id pair it hopes others bring. Sort the sixteen types by which four elements land in those valued seats and they fall into four groups of four: the quadras, named with Greek letters.

Quadra-mates can be wildly different people — each quadra holds logical and ethical types, extraverts and introverts. What they share is fuel: the same four kinds of information feel like life to all four of them, and the other four feel like noise, or work. That is why the theory's claim about quadras is a claim about climate — what a room full of these types settles into — and not a promise about friendship.

§2 THE FOUR CLIMATES
quadravalued elementsthe room feels liketypes
α alpha Ne Si Ti Feideas traded for the fun of it, comfort attended to, nobody outranking anyone, absurd humor
β beta Se Ni Ti Fea tight crew loyal to something larger, rank that is real but earned, dramatic humor, shared push
γ gamma Se Ni Te Fia few proven people, blunt useful feedback, the long game, everyone able to stand alone
δ delta Ne Si Te Ficalm and unforced — solid work, practical help freely given, personal space respected

α alpha  Comfort and play. Ideas are toys, status games are switched off, the food is good, and nobody is forced to a conclusion. The workplace version: brainstorms that run pleasantly long, with no one pulling rank.

β beta  Cause and belonging. Shared symbols, loyalty that means something, humor with drama in it, and the collective will to push through resistance. The workplace version: a team that feels like a unit and knows exactly who earned their stripes.

γ gamma  Results and earned trust. Blunt feedback taken as a favor, long-term bets, minimal ceremony. The workplace version: a small partnership of self-sufficient people who keep score honestly.

δ delta  Quiet usefulness. Solid craft, practical help given freely, personal space respected, drama quietly shown the door. The workplace version: professionals who improve things steadily and go home on time.

§3 HANDLE WITH CARE

Climates are not cages. Individuals of any type live and work happily across quadra lines, and typing yourself by which description flatters you is the most common beginner's mistake — the test asks about behavior instead for exactly that reason. On this site quadra tags stay deliberately small: a grouping, not a theme.
