LSE and SLE: quasi-identity
LSE and SLE share topics and cannot share methods. Quasi-identity keeps the vocabulary familiar and the meanings shifted, so work handed between SLE and LSE has to be redone rather than continued. The compatibility is conversational; it does not survive a deadline.

§2 In practice
Where it clicks
- They build remarkably fast. The SLE takes the terrain and clears the obstacle. The LSE turns that clearing into a schedule, with materials on site by Thursday. The addition goes up while the neighbors are still pulling permits.
- Blunt costing works for both of them. The SLE quotes numbers as ammunition — demonstrative Te doing what it does — and the LSE lives by those numbers. The money conversation is short, loud, and over. Nobody leaves the table confused about the budget.
- The hard calls get made in this house. Firing the bad contractor, putting down the sick dog, canceling the doomed trip — neither of them flinches, and neither holds the decision against the other afterward.
- An emergency divides the labor instantly. The pipe bursts, and the SLE is in the crawlspace before the phone finds the plumber. The LSE already has the water main off, the towels down, and the invoice dispute staged.
- Their respect rests on demonstrated competence, the one currency both accept. Each has seen the other carry a brutally hard physical or logistical job. The baseline regard never needs topping up with words.
Where it grinds
- They're two foremen on one site. The LSE runs the job by plan and process. The SLE's base Se takes over any situation that shows weakness, including this one. The question of who's in charge gets settled daily, from scratch.
- The SLE asks where all this effort leads in ten years — a real suggestive Ni request. It lands square on the LSE's vulnerable Ni, and what comes back is a lecture about this quarter.
- The LSE quietly hopes someone will spell out the personal loyalties in play — a suggestive Fi wish that never gets said out loud. The SLE's vulnerable Fi can't even see that the layer exists. Every year the hope expires unnoticed.
- Comfort standards are a second front. The LSE's creative Si wants the work done well and the workers fed. The SLE's ignoring Si will camp on gravel to win, and reads the hot-lunch policy as softness.
- Mid-execution, the SLE improvises the assault, and the LSE watches the agreed sequence get dropped the moment an opening appears. To the LSE that's a breach of plan. To the SLE it's the whole point of having eyes.
