§2 In practice
Where it clicks
- The ESE is grateful for the SLE's creative tactics, which feed a suggestive Ti slot directly. The ESE senses something wrong in the vendor's offer but can't say what. The SLE names the lever and the trap in two sentences, and the ESE closes accordingly.
- The ESE spends all day producing the thing the SLE's mobilizing Fe craves. One evening in, the ESE has turned the SLE's grim crew into a cheering one, and the SLE, encouraged, starts inventing occasions for it.
- Since alpha and beta both value Fe with Ti, the register lines up on its own: loud, funny, blunt, no grudges by morning. Their parties end late and get retold all week.
- The ESE holds Se as a demonstrative, so the SLE's force reads as legible, not frightening. When the SLE starts bulldozing, the ESE laughs, meets the volume, and redirects the machine toward the actual errand.
- They split the hosting cleanly: the SLE secures the venue, the meat, and the parking dispute, and the ESE runs warmth and pacing. Guests describe the same evening as effortless, which both of them know it wasn't.
Where it grinds
- The ESE aims creative Si at a partner whose ignoring slot swallows it. The scarf brought to the stadium, the reminder to eat, the early night before surgery: all of it gets declined on principle. The ESE is left tending a body that treats care as an insult.
- The SLE takes the future as it comes and holds Ni only as a hungry suggestive slot, not a supply. So the ESE's vulnerable Ni never gets covered. Neither of them can say how the year ends, and the ESE loses sleep for both.
- With Se values set against Si, the beta SLE escalates for sport, and the ESE's restful Sunday reads to them as terrain nobody is holding. Rest keeps getting rescheduled around campaigns the ESE never enlisted in.
- The SLE's base Se meets the ESE's demonstrative slot, so raw force impresses less than the SLE assumes. This audience applauds the tactic, not the shove, and the SLE can't always tell which one just landed.
- The SLE's vulnerable Fi stays invisible to an ESE who reads rooms, not bonds — Fi is the ESE's ignoring slot. So the private hurts inside the pair go unnamed by both, until one of them has grown very large.
