§2 In practice
Where it clicks
- Their decisions have velocity. A beach house they see on Tuesday is occupied by Friday, money and logistics improvised en route. Base Se on both sides has no gear for dithering.
- Confrontation costs neither of them anything. The contractor who overbilled gets handled by whichever one is nearer, and the outcome is the same either way. This household carries no unpaid grievances against outsiders.
- Both stall at speculative talk, holding Ne only at the role slot, so their meetings run short. The whole agenda is what are we doing, who's doing it, go. Each of them bills this as respect.
- The admiration runs both ways, and it's load-bearing. The SLE respects that the SEE can walk into a room of strangers and leave owning it. The SEE respects that the SLE can walk into a losing position and leave holding it.
- A patient advisor who says not yet gets treasured jointly, since both take Ni at the suggestive slot. Once they find one — an accountant, an older friend — every timing question goes through that person, and neither is embarrassed about it.
Where it grinds
- The SEE's creative Fi lands on the SLE's blind spot. The ledger of loyalties — who stood up at the wedding, who cooled after the loan — is a real instrument the SLE can't see. Charged with an entry from it, the SLE is baffled, and the bafflement reads as contempt.
- The SLE pays it back mid-anecdote, auditing the figures from creative Ti — you said forty people, and it was fifteen. The correction is minor but the humiliation isn't, since exactness is the SEE's sore spot. The story was the point.
- There are two drivers here and one wheel. On their shared Se axis, every joint decision defaults to a strength contest. The small matters — which route, whose friends tonight — get settled by whoever escalates faster.
- Nobody in this house winds down — both push Si into the ignoring slot. Vacations become campaigns, weekends acquire objectives, and the pulled muscle or the flu arrives as a surprise both take personally.
- Every shared victory gets retold twice. The SLE maintains the position was taken by strategy. The SEE maintains the people were won over by charm. Both are right, both keep score, and the retelling quietly becomes its own contest.
