ESE and IEE run one way: ESE leads with what IEE is trying to grow, so the admiration flows in one direction. Benefit makes IEE and ESE a clean teacher-and-student pair and an awkward pair of equals. The compatibility is real for one of them and thin for the other.

Where it clicks
- The ESE's creative comfort work feeds the IEE's suggestive Si directly. Three projects deep and living on crackers, the IEE sits down to an actual meal the ESE produced without being asked, and briefly becomes a person again.
- Every fascinating stranger the IEE drags home lands on the ESE like a gift, because the ESE's mobilizing Ne has a real appetite for people and their possibilities. Within the week there's a dinner party built around the newcomer.
- Alpha and delta both value the Ne with Si axis, so their calendars agree on the essentials: interesting people, soft chairs, no forced marches. A shared vacation comes together around markets and long lunches, nobody pushing.
- As two ethical types they can run a room together, the ESE working the whole table's mood while the IEE goes deep with a single guest in the kitchen. Hosts this good don't often find each other.
- The IEE watches closely when the ESE lifts a room that's gone dead. Fe sits in the IEE's demonstrative slot, so the craft is fully legible. What the IEE does by instinct at funerals, the ESE can do on schedule.
Where it grinds
- The ESE's ignoring slot is where the IEE's creative Fi ends up. The IEE reads carefully who's actually loyal to whom, and the ESE waves it off as overthinking and trusts the room's surface. When the surface lies, the IEE was right, unheard.
- Nobody here runs Ni — it sits vulnerable for the ESE and ignored by the IEE — so the five-year question has no owner. Two renovations and a business idea all proceed at once, in no particular order.
- On hosting days the ESE's demonstrative Se shows up as bustle and directives. The IEE, whose role Se takes real effort, complies for about an hour, then vanishes to the backyard with one guest, leaving the ESE to count chairs alone.
- With Si in the suggestive slot, the IEE consumes comfort and rarely produces it. Somewhere around year three the ESE notices that the soup has never once traveled the other direction. Saying so out loud feels petty, so it eventually gets said pettily.
- The ESE wants feeling displayed and synchronized, and the delta IEE wants it individually verified — that's what Fe against Fi values comes down to. At the ESE's birthday the IEE gives one perfect private toast and skips the singing. The ESE remembers the skipping.
