ESE and LSI: semi-duality
ESE and LSI get duality's opening without its follow-through. Semi-duality covers the lead functions exactly and leaves the support functions crossed, so help between LSI and ESE arrives in the wrong shape at the worst moment. The compatibility is real, and it plateaus below what the first week promised.
Almost easy. Your lead functions cover each other exactly like duality. Your support functions don't. Strong starts, weak rescues.

Where it clicks
- The LSI's apartment runs like a barracks until the ESE walks in — loud, warm, and uninvited into every corner of it. Suggestive Fe means the LSI would never ask for any of this and never once turns it down.
- The ESE can circle a dilemma out loud for an hour. The LSI issues a two-sentence ruling and the circling stops. The ESE's suggestive Ti takes structure from the LSI that it would resent from anyone else.
- Both of them hold the alpha-beta Fe-Ti line: feelings get shown openly, rules get stated plainly. Their fights are loud, brief, fully itemized, and then actually over. Spectators find that alarming. The two of them find it hygienic.
- Guests experience the dinner as effortless. The ESE runs the table and the temperature; the LSI has silently handled parking, quantities, and the order of the courses. Neither files the division away as a favor.
- Faced with a hostile landlord, the pair hardens on the spot. The LSI's creative Se does the pressing; the ESE's demonstrative Se backs it without rehearsal. Outsiders who took the warmth for softness adjust fast.
Where it grinds
- The ESE fusses over the LSI with creative Si: eat more, sleep earlier, take the scarf. The LSI, who runs their own maintenance like regulation equipment, files the fussing under noise. The ESE reads the shrug as rejection.
- Under strain, the LSI tightens the regime: schedules, inspections, pressure on third parties. The ESE's demonstrative Se needed none of that. What the ESE wanted, with vulnerable Ni aching, was a date when the strain would end.
- Brainstorming is entertainment to the ESE: a new city, a new trade, repaint everything. The LSI's vulnerable Ne treats each item as a formal proposal to be demolished. Three items in, both are insulted, and neither can name the offense.
- The two of them wait differently, and the difference turns into warfare. The LSI can hold a not-yet indefinitely — mobilizing Ni is content to let things ripen. The ESE can't wait without visible suffering, asks again, and gets logged as pressure.
- Once the quarrel is over, the ESE wants reconciliation immediately — tonight, with soup. The LSI wants a debrief establishing what exactly happened at 7:40 and under which rule. Each considers the other's procedure a second offense.
