SEI and SEE: extinguishment
SEI and SEE care about the same things from opposite directions. Extinguishment pairs identical elements with every attitude flipped, so SEE and SEI agree in principle and undo each other in execution. The compatibility works in small, spaced doses and not much beyond them.

§2 In practice
Where it clicks
- People are the trade they share. At a wedding, the SEE works the room one guest at a time through creative Fi while the SEI adjusts the room's temperature with Fe. The event runs on both channels, and neither crosses the other's wires.
- The SEE's push lands on the SEI's ignoring Se, so the SEI absorbs it without folding or flaring. In the whole family, the SEE has found exactly one person who neither obeys nor escalates — and treats that calm like a resort.
- The SEI's base Si sits where the SEE is strong but backgrounded. So the SEE recognizes the craft in the guest bed and the soup without needing it itemized. Care gets given competently and accepted without fuss.
- The SEE can give the SEI's mood-play right back, ironically, through demonstrative Fe. And the SEI keeps the same private ledger of loyalties the SEE writes with — demonstrative Fi. Neither of them ever has to translate a feeling for the other, in either dialect.
- For a single evening they make excellent co-hosts. Then comes the drive home, spent auditing every guest in two dialects of gossip. That's the part both of them would pay for.
Where it grinds
- What did the kitchen renovation actually cost, and was it worth it? The SEE's mobilizing Te asks because it wants a briefing to learn from. But Te is the SEI's vulnerable slot. The question lands as an audit, and dinner goes quiet.
- It runs the other way too. The SEI's modest Ti appetite asks the SEE to state the rule: how do you decide who gets forgiven, who gets the discount? The SEE, vulnerable in exactly that slot, hears an exam and changes the subject to a person.
- When the SEE escalates to force a decision, the pressure hits the SEI's ignoring Se and just stops. The SEI outlasts the surge without visible effort. The SEE calls it stubbornness, the SEI calls it weather, and the decision waits another month.
- The SEI spends an evening tuning a mood by degrees — careful Fe work. It lands in the SEE's demonstrative slot, where the same effect is a party trick done at will. Watching your own craft performed casually, unclaimed, is a very specific insult. The SEI feels it weekly.
- Trips are where the inversion shows. The SEI builds the itinerary around meals, naps, and one museum. The SEE builds it around three people worth meeting and whatever happens after midnight. Each runs their own half, then reports that the other half was the vacation's flaw.
