SEI and LSE: supervision (LSE supervises SEI)
SEI and LSE are not on level ground: LSE leads with the element SEI is weakest at, and presses on it without effort or intent. Supervision has a direction, so LSE and SEI live in the same relation differently — one feels watched, the other feels interested. The compatibility is asymmetric.

§2 In practice
Where it clicks
- On the good pan, the aired room, and the right bread, they agree before anyone discusses it. The LSE's creative Si and the SEI's base Si arrive at the same standard from opposite directions.
- At the obligatory office party, the SEI's creative Fe charms a table the LSE would merely have managed. The colleagues conclude the LSE must be warmer at home. They happen to be right.
- The income arrives. The repairs get done. The plans hold. The SEI lives well on the output of the LSE's base Te and, unlike most people, actually notices the provision.
- Novelty comes in equal portions here. Ne is mobilizing for the LSE and suggestive for the SEI. A new market on Saturday or one day trip a season gets planned by one of them and savored by the other.
- They divide the chores without a chart. Both simply see what a house needs. The only dispute is stylistic: the LSE does it on schedule, the SEI when the room asks.
Where it grinds
- What did the day produce, asks the LSE's base Te. The day produced a calm child, a good soup, and a defused quarrel. None of it enters the ledger. The SEI's vulnerable slot takes the question as an indictment.
- The LSE prices the method and finds the farmers market costs thirty percent more. That the method was the point doesn't survive translation into percentages. The SEI stops explaining. The LSE records that as conceding.
- That worn armchair the SEI had broken in to exactly the right degree gets replaced by the LSE. Creative Si executes comfort as maintenance. Base Si inhabits it as atmosphere. The new chair is objectively better, and also worse.
- The SEI's mood-tending strikes the LSE as pleasant but impossible to act on. The LSE's toneless fine strikes the SEI as a mood in urgent need of tending. Every intervention produces more of what provoked it.
- Once a quarter, the LSE presents the household spreadsheet. The SEI agrees with every line and then changes nothing. Both describe this as a working system. One of them is right.
