SEI and IEI: business
SEI and IEI solve with the same instrument for different ends. Business relations are the working-distance kind: tactics transfer cleanly between IEI and SEI, warmth does not. The compatibility is professional, and it lasts about as long as the shared task.
Same move, different reason. Same creative function, different lead. Capable colleagues who solve with the same instrument, for different ends.

§2 In practice
Where it clicks
- As two Fe-creatives, they host in shifts. The SEI sets the table and the temperature. The IEI supplies the toast that makes the evening feel like it meant something. Guests leave praising them both, not sure exactly for what.
- They don't audit each other. Te is vulnerable on both sides, so receipts go unexamined, hours go unlogged, and a half-finished project is allowed to just be resting. Both of them call this peace.
- Each reads the other's mood before it's spoken. When one comes home flat, the other adjusts the room's register within minutes. Neither of them considers this a service worth mentioning.
- A tidy explanation delights them both. Each has mobilizing Ti, so a clean little framework from a podcast gets traded like a stamp — admired from every side, never systematized any further.
- A fever in the house brings out the division of labor. The SEI knows what the body needs today. The IEI can tell how long this will run and when it's worth worrying. Between them, the patient is fed and forecast.
Where it grinds
- Bring up where things are drifting and the SEI nods dutifully — Ni for them is a short, effortful performance. Then a plate of something warm arrives and the subject changes. The IEI notices that it changed.
- The SEI's Si regime is role-slot labor for the IEI, who keeps up the tidy-kitchen protocol for about nine days. Then the cups migrate back to the desk. The SEI restores order and mildly resents the whole cycle.
- Nobody in this pairing does Te. The warranty lapses, the tax letter ages in a drawer, the utility bill autopays them into overdraft. Each assumes the other is at least watching the money. Neither is.
- The IEI works best when pushed — their suggestive Se wants a firm outside hand on the schedule. But the SEI keeps force deliberately backgrounded. Deadlines approach with both of them fully informed and completely unmoved.
- The SEI would gladly take a fresh possibility — that's what a suggestive Ne slot is for. The IEI ignores Ne and circles the one storyline instead. So it's the same vacation and the same grievances, re-scored with feeling each year.
