Where it clicks
- The SLE who intimidates coworkers turns playful around an SEI. The SEI's creative Fe lands on the SLE's mobilizing Fe, so the festivity shows up without the SLE having to manufacture it. Both of them prefer that version of the SLE.
- When the SLE lays out a plan or a rule flatly, there's no homework attached. That suits the SEI's mobilizing Ti perfectly — they'll take clear reasoning gladly as long as it comes as help, not as an exam.
- Vacations are where this pairing shows off. The SLE seizes the destination, the tickets, and the upgrade. The SEI makes wherever they land comfortable within the hour. Each covers their own base function, and neither wants the other's job.
- Pressure from the SLE finds nothing to push against. Se sits in the SEI's ignoring slot — strong, but switched off — so a shove gets absorbed instead of contested. Fights that flatten the SLE's other partners never get started here.
- The two of them run on the concrete — markets, food, swimming, the physical fact of things. A good day doesn't need a theory behind it. The SEI cooks whatever the SLE hauled home, and the evening justifies itself.
Where it grinds
- Base Se meets soft weather here. The raised voice, the deadline, the we-move-now — all of it sinks into the SEI's ignoring slot instead of hitting resistance. So the SLE escalates, the SEI gets gentler, and the whole offensive dies in the living room.
- Unnoticed labor runs the other way too. The SEI's base Si shows up as calibrated meals and a mended coat — but that's the channel the SLE overrides in themselves and can't rate in anyone else. Years of craft register as puttering.
- Money talk goes wrong fast. To close an argument, the SLE tosses off costs and results from demonstrative Te. But Te is the SEI's vulnerable slot, and the casual figure lands as an indictment of how the SEI spends a day.
- A joint project lays the tempo gap bare. To the SLE the renovation is a blitz. To the SEI it's a season. The schedule and the comfort can't both survive, so the half-tiled bathroom quietly becomes a permanent feature.
- The SLE's beta contest culture never takes root here. They keep score, rank the friends, test the guests — and the SEI declines to compete about anything at all. Depending on the week, the SLE reads that refusal as serenity or as an insult.
