INTp and ENFj: supervision (ENFj supervises INTp)
INTp and ENFj are not on level ground: ENFj leads with the element INTp is weakest at, and presses on it without effort or intent. Supervision has a direction, so ENFj and INTp live in the same relation differently — one feels watched, the other feels interested. The compatibility is asymmetric.

§2 In practice
Where it clicks
- For both of them, the ten-year view is the real one. Neither has ever once said live in the moment, and each finds that absence in the other restful.
- When the vision needs numbers, the INTp's creative Te has them ready, with sources. The ENFj then presents them to the room far better than the INTp ever would. Both know this division of labor is correct.
- The ENFj buys the tickets and produces the people. The INTp attends under protest, then admits around midnight that their forecast for the evening was wrong. This has happened more than once.
- A decisive move impresses them both, the ENFj mobilizing Se and the INTp gladly receiving it from outside. Whatever else this pair fights about, ditherers have no standing in their house.
- The INTp's long arguments about where things are heading usually lose the room. The ENFj's creative Ni follows them all the way to the end — a rare audience, and the INTp registers being understood.
Where it grinds
- The ENFj's base Fe asks for the raised glass, the moving word, the joined chorus. What the INTp's vulnerable slot produces is one dry, accurate sentence. The room cools. The ENFj takes it personally, and isn't wrong to.
- That figure is off, and that approach has never worked, says the INTp's Te mid-vision. To the ENFj's role Te this is heckling from the cheap seats. The ENFj answers with more feeling, the one currency the INTp can't accept.
- They share Ni and disagree about what it's for. The INTp's base version calls the ENFj's creative version theater — a forecast bent to serve tonight's effect. The ENFj calls the INTp's version accurate and useless, since it moves no one.
- With money, the split is gesture versus expected value. The ENFj spends on significance, the occasion, the entrance. The INTp spends on the curve. They have this argument annually, with updated figures and identical structure.
- From a distance, the INTp enjoys the show. In a shared apartment the show never closes. The INTp's blank evening face becomes, for the ENFj, the nightly review, with notices that are never good.
