ILI and IEI: kindred
ILI and IEI lead with the same element and support it with different ones. Kindred gives them common ground in the first hour and a reliable split later, because IEI and ILI read the same evidence and reach different verdicts. The compatibility holds while the stakes stay low.

§2 In practice
Where it clicks
- The long view is their native language. A whole evening can go to where the industry, the country, or a mutual friend will be in ten years, and neither Ni base calls that idle.
- Silence doesn't register as a malfunction here. They can share a room for hours without transacting. With Si at both role slots, the housekeeping settles at the same tolerable minimum, and neither is scandalized by the other's stack of cups.
- Neither demands festivity. The ILI can't produce enthusiasm on cue, and the IEI never invoices for it. Celebrations stay quiet and small, and both judge them sufficient. Their ideal New Year's Eve is two chairs and a window.
- They cross-check their predictions. The IEI reads the mood of the coming year; the ILI reads its mechanics. Where the two forecasts agree, they act with a confidence neither could bank alone.
- Se sits at the suggestive slot on each side, so they jointly prize a decisive third party. The friend who names the hour and assigns the boots mobilizes them both, and gets spoken of with the reverence others reserve for patrons.
Where it grinds
- The IEI's vulnerable spot is Te, and the ILI's help arrives through exactly that channel. What has the project actually produced, asked as routine diligence, is the IEI's nightmare question. The honest answer is atmosphere, and the IEI knows how that sounds on paper.
- Going the other way, the injury is quieter. The IEI's creative Fe plans some small household delight and gets a level stare — staged feeling presses on the ILI's sore spot. The IEI reads the stare as a verdict on the marriage, not the balloon.
- Nothing external happens unless somebody imports the force. Se is suggestive for each of them, so the apartment move, the raise, and the leak under the sink all wait for a push neither can supply. They produce two accurate forecasts of how bad it will get. A neighbor eventually supplies the bucket.
- Two rival prophecies can't both be canonical. When the IEI's felt sense of a friend's trajectory contradicts the ILI's data on the same friend, there's no arbiter. Each considers the other's method decoration.
- Talking about money wears them down unevenly. The ILI tracks what things earn; the IEI tracks what things mean. The joint budget ends up a document with one author and one skeptical reader, revised in silence and resented in detail.
