ILE and SEI: duality
ILE and SEI are duals, the easiest of the sixteen relations. Duality is a claim about coverage: what SEI and ILE each find expensive, the other does without noticing. It is the strongest compatibility claim on this site.
Easy. The one. Each of you leads with the thing the other most wants handed to them. The claim is narrow: coverage, not chemistry. Duals make each other's lives easier, not more exciting.

§2 In practice
Where it clicks
- They never really have to negotiate a trip. The ILE shows up with four itineraries and a theory about the region; the SEI quietly works out which one a human body can survive. All that spare Ne is exactly what the SEI's suggestive slot is hungry for.
- The SEI's Si runs all the time, at no charge, so meals, clean laundry, and a livable apartment simply accumulate around the ILE. The ILE takes all of it in slot 5 — grateful, and never once feeling managed.
- The ILE arrives at a party as a spectator. Twenty minutes of the SEI's mood-work later, the ILE is holding court, convinced the whole thing was their idea. That kind of warming is exactly what mobilizing Fe wants.
- Ask the ILE why the cheap printer is a trap and they'll hand over the principle in three sentences, free of charge. The SEI's mobilizing Ti wants the rule delivered on request, with no lecture series attached.
- They cover each other's weak spots without ever calling it a favor. The ILE's demonstrative Te figures out which contractor is any good, so the SEI's vulnerable Te never gets tested; the SEI's demonstrative Fi keeps track of whose feelings the ILE stepped on and quietly patches things up.
Where it grinds
- The ILE's Te is demonstrative, which means it comes out as irony. So the joke about the cost-per-wear of the SEI's new coat lands squarely on vulnerable Te, and it's funny to exactly one person in the room.
- Dinner conversation splits along club lines. The ILE wants to take the argument apart; the SEI wants to know how it left everyone feeling. Privately, each decides the other missed the point.
- Because the SEI's Si never looks like effort, the ILE files the household under natural phenomena. Then the SEI spends a week sick in bed, and the ILE discovers that lunch doesn't simply occur.
- In the ILE's club, debate counts as recreation, so the ILE escalates a disagreement purely for sport. The SEI hears voices rising, registers conflict, and starts serving tea at strategic intervals. Neither is wrong, and neither stops.
- Both of their mobilizing slots stall under pressure. Demand consistency from the SEI and their Ti goes rigid mid-sentence. Order the ILE to be warm at your mother's table and the Fe comes out wooden.
