LIE and ESI: duality
LIE and ESI are duals, the easiest of the sixteen relations. Duality is a claim about coverage: what ESI and LIE each find expensive, the other does without noticing. It is the strongest compatibility claim on this site.
Easy. The one. Each of you leads with the thing the other most wants handed to them. The claim is narrow: coverage, not chemistry. Duals make each other's lives easier, not more exciting.

§2 In practice
Where it clicks
- One sentence from the ESI settles what the LIE's models never could: drop that partner, he's already decided to cheat you. That is base Fi landing on suggestive Fi. The LIE trusts exactly one instrument for reading people, and married it.
- Which mortgage, which surgeon, which method: the LIE's base Te answers the ESI's questions flatly and immediately. The ESI's suggestive slot receives that efficiency as a form of care — something nobody else ever guessed it was.
- The LIE announces the ambition, and the ESI's creative Se makes it real on schedule: the application actually gets sent, the time-wasters get turned away at the door. The LIE's mobilizing Se wanted exactly that kind of enforcement.
- The ESI worries in the present tense. The LIE's creative Ni effortlessly reframes the worry across five years. The ESI's Ni is mobilizing, so they have a real appetite for that long view — in small doses.
- During deal week, the LIE forgets meals exist. The ESI's demonstrative Si imposes food and sleep with no discussion, covering the vulnerable Si. The LIE submits to the regime while pretending it's optional.
Where it grinds
- At dinner the LIE floats hypothetical ventures, because demonstrative Ne enjoys the exercise. The ESI's vulnerable Ne can't take a what-if as play. Every scenario becomes a threat to the household or proof of unseriousness, and gets filed accordingly.
- Mid-sprint, the care regime turns into a standoff. The LIE overrides the body's signals for the deadline's sake, and the ESI escalates the enforcement — creative Se only knows one gear. Dinner arrives as an ultimatum and gets eaten as one.
- The ESI keeps exact books, so the slight from March is still on file. The LIE's apology comes out as role Fe — brief, procedural — and the ESI's ignoring Fe discounts the display entirely. The debt stands. The LIE believes it was paid.
- Aggregates are how the LIE generalizes: statistically, people in your sister's position default. To the LIE that's a spreadsheet. To the ESI it's an indictment of a named person under their protection. Their clubs price the same sentence differently.
- Betting today for position in three years is the LIE's whole method. To the ESI it means three more years of the broken bathroom, deferred until the exit. The bathroom, for the ESI, isn't a metaphor.
