ENTj and INFp: supervision (ENTj supervises INFp)
ENTj and INFp are not on level ground: ENTj leads with the element INFp is weakest at, and presses on it without effort or intent. Supervision has a direction, so INFp and ENTj live in the same relation differently — one feels watched, the other feels interested. The compatibility is asymmetric.

§2 In practice
Where it clicks
- Dinner conversation runs on where the industry, the family, and the decade are all heading. The ENTj's creative Ni can hold the INFp's base Ni for hours, without one line of small talk.
- This is where it turns, says the INFp. The ENTj converts that image into an actual position — in a market, with money on it. The INFp gets consulted like an instrument and finds the role agreeable.
- Before the investor dinner, the INFp's creative Fe retunes the ENTj's pitch from spreadsheet into story. The ENTj's role Fe can perform it convincingly for exactly one evening. That turns out to be enough.
- Both sides admire decisiveness. Se is mobilizing for the ENTj and suggestive for the INFp. When the ENTj does move, the INFp — who can't ever move first — moves with them gladly.
- A good evening here involves long silences, separate screens, and the occasional forecast exchanged across the room. Both of them describe it exactly that way, independently. Neither is being ironic.
Where it grinds
- What did you do today, what did it cost, what is it for. The ENTj's base Te presses these on the vulnerable slot hourly. The INFp's honest answer is that they watched, waited, and understood something. None of that books as output.
- To the ENTj, the INFp's finances are a rounding error with feelings attached: untracked spending, an invoice met with a shrug. The ENTj sets up a budget tracker. Within a month the INFp treats it as scenery.
- They share Ni. They also share the fight over who owns the future. The ENTj's creative version bends the forecast toward the business plan. The INFp's base version says the plan misreads the current. Every so often, the current agrees with the INFp.
- The INFp's mood-weather fills the apartment, Fe pressing against a role slot. The ENTj responds with scheduled cheerfulness. The INFp rates that as worse than honest gloom, and says so obliquely for weeks.
- The ENTj gives every household project a deadline. The kitchen renovation plan lists the INFp on three tasks. By the second week, all three have been quietly renegotiated into observation.
