The watched feeling. LIE's leading function presses on IEI's vulnerable slot — continuously, without effort and without malice. Supervision has a direction; this page reads LIE → IEI.
▸ New to socionics? The 90-second primer
Socionics builds types from eight information elements (Ne, Si, Ti, Fe…) placed into eight fixed slots — the slot decides how the element behaves in you.
The three-letter code (LIE) names the top two slots. It looks like an MBTI type; it doesn't convert cleanly — which is the kind of disagreement this site exists to measure.
Want the fuller version? The basics page covers elements, functions, quadras, and the two models.
| element | in LIE | in IEI | what happens |
|---|---|---|---|
| Te | base (1) | vulnerable (4) | LIE leads with IEI's sore spot — constant, unintended pressure |
| Ni | creative (2) | base (1) | IEI lives where LIE improvises |
| Fe | role (3) | creative (2) | LIE's duty, IEI's craft |
| Si | vulnerable (4) | role (3) | LIE's bruise, IEI's chore — mutual flinching |
| Fi | suggestive (5) | demonstrative (8) | IEI covers it in passing; LIE feeds quietly |
| Se | mobilizing (6) | suggestive (5) | both want it; neither has it |
| Ti | ignoring (7) | mobilizing (6) | LIE has it; IEI wants it — supply without showmanship |
| Ne | demonstrative (8) | ignoring (7) | neither values it; both have it |
slots, in one line: base & creative = native strengths · role = performed on demand · vulnerable = the sore spot · suggestive & mobilizing = what's wanted from others · ignoring & demonstrative = strong but not valued. Full definitions on each type page.
Where it clicks
- IEI finds LIE substantial — the pressure reads as depth, at first.
- LIE finds IEI interesting: receptive, a little opaque, worth correcting.
- In small structured doses — mentorship with exits — the transfer is real.
Where it grinds
- IEI can never quite answer back; replies land beside the point, and both notice.
- LIE doesn't feel the pressing, so requests to stop read as oversensitivity.
- It escalates with closeness. The classical advice is distance, and it's right.
MODEL A Intertype relations are classical canon — this page is Model A ground. MODEL G keeps the frame but weights temperament and communication energy differently; where that changes a reading, we say so. Nothing here is invented to manufacture a disagreement. method →
