§2 In practice
Where it clicks
- Two flat facts from the SLI kill the overpriced car the SEE nearly bought. Creative Te aimed at the SEE's mobilizing slot reads as a gift, not a curb. The SEE takes practical correction from the SLI that nobody else is allowed to offer.
- The SEE manages the closeness on purpose. Declaring the relationship and naming the affection is creative Fi aimed at the SLI's mobilizing slot. The SLI wants the warmth, won't initiate it, and responds well to being claimed.
- Neither of them needs a theory of the good Saturday, since both are sensors. A market, a repair, something cooked over a fire. Hours pass in shared concrete work, maybe a dozen sentences exchanged, and that's plenty for both.
- On vacation they split the work cleanly along base functions. The SEE finds the people, the beach, and the action. The SLI makes camp comfortable and keeps the gear working. Neither one wants the other's portfolio.
- The SLI explains machinery by showing, not by defining — which happens to be the only register the SEE's vulnerable Ti will accept. The SEE learns the engine without one humiliating vocabulary quiz.
Where it grinds
- Base Se sets the SEE's agenda — tonight we go out, Saturday we host twelve. All that drive hits the SLI's switched-off channel. The SLI neither resists nor joins, just becomes gradually unavailable. The SEE ends up at the party alone and bills it as abandonment.
- To the SEE, the SLI's base Si is just scenery. The calibrated chair, the maintained quiet, the workshop arranged over years — the SEE rearranges all of it for one party and can't see what got destroyed.
- The SEE's demonstrative Fe wants an audience at home — the toast, the dramatized delight, the visible enjoyment expected in return. Performing pleasure on cue is the one thing the SLI's vulnerable Fe cannot do.
- They make decisions on different clocks. The SEE commits by moving. The SLI commits by letting a thing settle. The trip either gets booked tonight or ripens for a month, and deposits have been lost in both directions.
- Their side business plateaus at hobby scale. The SEE lines up buyers faster than the SLI will release anything, and the SLI won't ship unfinished work just to please a crowd. Eventually both of them quietly stop mentioning the venture.
