INTj and ENFp: supervision (INTj supervises ENFp)
INTj and ENFp are not on level ground: INTj leads with the element ENFp is weakest at, and presses on it without effort or intent. Supervision has a direction, so ENFp and INTj live in the same relation differently — one feels watched, the other feels interested. The compatibility is asymmetric.

§2 In practice
Where it clicks
- The conversation is the good part. The ENFp's base Ne brings what people could become; the INTj's creative Ne brings what principles could become. One walk yields six plans neither will ever execute, to everyone's satisfaction.
- Every so often the INTj converts one of the ENFp's enthusiasms into a two-column comparison, and every so often the ENFp actually uses it. The retraining decision that stuck came out of exactly this machinery.
- Before dinners, the ENFp's creative Fi briefs the INTj on who's feuding with whom. Working from the briefing, the INTj's role Fi can perform an adequate evening, and the INTj knows it.
- They rest the same way, the INTj mobilizing Si and the ENFp receiving it in the suggestive slot: unforced evenings, no obligatory outings. Tea and two separate books still counts as spending the evening together.
- Nobody pushes anybody in this pair. No raised voices, no on-the-spot demands for compliance, no power plays. Disagreement stays verbal and abstract, the only register both of them find safe.
Where it grinds
- Define what you mean by soon, says the INTj's base Ti in the middle of scheduling. The ENFp answers with a story about a person. The INTj follows up with a taxonomy. Both walk away from the exchange hungry.
- The INTj grades the very feature the ENFp leads with. That's four ideas and none of them finished, says the creative Ne watching the base Ne. The ENFp hears their own engine described as a defect.
- When the ENFp talks about who feels what about whom, the INTj's role Fi delivers a brief, correct performance, then a generalization. To the ENFp, the generalization is just coldness with good posture.
- The chore chart survives about nine days. The INTj wants one consistent system; the ENFp renegotiates it per case, per person, per mood. So the INTj rebuilds the chart, and the ENFp decorates it.
- The closer they get, the more of the ENFp's talk ends up in the INTj's files. Eventually the ENFp starts editing themselves before speaking — the one thing an ENFp was never built to do.
