Strength on sore spot — both directions at once. Each type's leading function presses squarely on the other's most vulnerable slot. At distance: intriguing. Up close: attritional.
▸ New to socionics? The 90-second primer
Socionics builds types from eight information elements (Ne, Si, Ti, Fe…) placed into eight fixed slots — the slot decides how the element behaves in you.
The three-letter code (LSI) names the top two slots. It looks like an MBTI type; it doesn't convert cleanly — which is the kind of disagreement this site exists to measure.
Want the fuller version? The basics page covers elements, functions, quadras, and the two models.
| element | in LSI | in IEE | what happens |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ti | base (1) | vulnerable (4) | LSI leads with IEE's sore spot — constant, unintended pressure |
| Se | creative (2) | role (3) | LSI's craft is IEE's obligation |
| Fi | role (3) | creative (2) | LSI's duty, IEE's craft |
| Ne | vulnerable (4) | base (1) | IEE leads with LSI's sore spot — pressure from above |
| Fe | suggestive (5) | demonstrative (8) | IEE covers it in passing; LSI feeds quietly |
| Ni | mobilizing (6) | ignoring (7) | IEE has it and won't perform it; LSI wanted the performance |
| Te | ignoring (7) | mobilizing (6) | LSI has it; IEE wants it — supply without showmanship |
| Si | demonstrative (8) | suggestive (5) | LSI covers it in passing; IEE feeds quietly |
slots, in one line: base & creative = native strengths · role = performed on demand · vulnerable = the sore spot · suggestive & mobilizing = what's wanted from others · ignoring & demonstrative = strong but not valued. Full definitions on each type page.
Where it clicks
- Real fascination — the other is fluent in precisely what you avoid.
- Workable as colleagues with a wall between duties.
- Brief exposure is genuinely instructive.
Where it grinds
- Proximity produces chronic, hard-to-name depletion.
- Every defense you raise is built of the thing that provokes them.
- It worsens with intimacy — the reverse of what both expect.
MODEL A Intertype relations are classical canon — this page is Model A ground. MODEL G keeps the frame but weights temperament and communication energy differently; where that changes a reading, we say so. Nothing here is invented to manufacture a disagreement. method →
