EIE and SEI: supervision (SEI supervises EIE)
EIE and SEI are not on level ground: SEI leads with the element EIE is weakest at, and presses on it without effort or intent. Supervision has a direction, so SEI and EIE live in the same relation differently — one feels watched, the other feels interested. The compatibility is asymmetric.

§2 In practice
Where it clicks
- Fe comes naturally to both, just at different scales. The SEI tunes the room; the EIE tunes the arc of the evening. A dinner they run together beats anything either could stage alone.
- Mid-rehearsal, food just appears, and the EIE eats it without breaking a sentence. The SEI's base Si quietly services the body the EIE's mission forgot. Taken in occasional doses, that's real care, and it's received as exactly that.
- The EIE supplies the event; the SEI supplies somewhere for it to land. The drama gets a warm kitchen to come home to. The SEI's week gets a plot.
- Their arguments at least share a currency. Both treat feeling as public material and logic as a matter of consistency — alpha and beta agree on Fe and Ti — so neither is ever speaking into a void.
- When the SEI starts fretting about later, the EIE's creative Ni narrates the future with enough confidence that the SEI's effortful role Ni can stand down for the night. Used sparingly, the trick works.
Where it grinds
- The SEI's running Si commentary presses the EIE's sore spot without meaning to: you haven't eaten, sit down, that jacket's too thin. What the EIE hears is a daily itemized list of their failures at ordinary living.
- Before a big event the EIE skips meals and sleep on purpose. The SEI corrects both, on principle. To the EIE, that correction demotes the event to the level of a nap schedule.
- At parties they work opposite ends of the same dial. The SEI turns down the music the EIE just turned up, literally and otherwise. Each considers the other's setting a mistake to quietly correct.
- The EIE's anniversary speeches about where this is all going land on the SEI's role Ni. The SEI produces a dutiful answer about the future, then is tired for the rest of the day.
- Once they live together, the dose control disappears. The SEI's Si runs constantly because it's base. The EIE's soreness runs constantly for the same reason. Neither is doing anything they could actually stop.
