§2 In practice
Where it clicks
- Silence in a car is home ground for these two. With two vulnerable Fe stacks, nobody performs enthusiasm and nobody requests it. A four-hour drive can pass in easy factory quiet.
- Their recommendations actually convert. Te is creative for both of them. When the SLI names the right jack for the car, or the ILI names the fund with the honest expense ratio, the other one just acts on it.
- Purchases get researched twice and regretted rarely. They both distrust marketing on principle. Any claim that survives the ILI's track-record check and the SLI's hands-on testing is probably true.
- In this pair, affection travels by maintenance. The SLI fixes the squeak the ILI never mentioned. The ILI flags the recall notice before the SLI's model is affected. Both carry mobilizing Fi, so each reads the gesture correctly and says nothing about it.
- They never hurry each other. The ILI's long silences and the SLI's slow, methodical starts read to each other as work, not stalling. That spares them a whole genre of argument.
Where it grinds
- The ILI's ten-year forecast earns a courteous nod from the SLI, and then the conversation goes back to this week's gasket. Ni sits in the SLI's role slot. The ILI concludes the forecast was wasted on the room.
- Living inside the SLI's Si regime is work the ILI does from the role slot. They manage proper meals and an ergonomic schedule for a stretch, at real cost, then drift back to tea and screens at two in the morning.
- Privately, the ILI is waiting for some outside force to get things started — suggestive Se hopes for exactly that. The SLI never pushes anyone, having deliberately backgrounded Se. Both know the deck needs staining. It stays bare for three seasons.
- A fresh possibility from outside is the one request the SLI's suggestive Ne slot keeps open. The ILI ignores Ne and prunes options as a hobby. Every venture the SLI floats arrives pre-forecast to fail.
- Birthdays amount to a joint hostage situation. Fe is vulnerable on both sides, so neither can produce the warm ceremony the extended family expects. Each quietly blames the other for not covering it.
