SLI and LIE: supervision (SLI supervises LIE)
SLI and LIE are not on level ground: SLI leads with the element LIE is weakest at, and presses on it without effort or intent. Supervision has a direction, so LIE and SLI live in the same relation differently — one feels watched, the other feels interested. The compatibility is asymmetric.

§2 In practice
Where it clicks
- Shop talk is what intimacy looks like here. The SLI's creative Te respects that the LIE's base Te actually ships. The LIE respects that the SLI's fixes stay fixed. Most evenings that's the whole conversation, and both are content with it.
- The chair that ends the back pain, the meals at hours the LIE didn't notice passing: the SLI maintains the machine the LIE lives in. The LIE's output rises. The LIE credits the strategy.
- In two years that skill will price at double, says the LIE's creative Ni. The SLI distrusts forecasts on principle and quietly takes the course anyway. It prices at double.
- Loyalty goes without ceremony on both sides — Fi suggestive for the LIE, mobilizing for the SLI. Nobody performs an anniversary here. Both keep an exact private record of who stayed.
- Silence in the car suits them both. Two hundred miles, four sentences, all four of them useful. Afterward each rates the trip highly — a review no other passenger would corroborate.
Where it grinds
- You're gray, eat something, that's your third coffee: the SLI's base Si reads the LIE's vulnerable slot accurately, and hourly. The LIE experiences the maintenance as sabotage of momentum. They say so at speed.
- The LIE treats the body as a line item to defer. The SLI watches the crash approach and gets proven right on schedule, which helps nothing. The told-you-so stays silent. It's still perfectly audible.
- That's inefficient at the bench level, notes the SLI's creative Te about the grand system. The LIE dismisses shop-floor detail as friction. The detail sends its invoice eight months later.
- When the LIE volunteers the renovated garage as collateral for the leveraged position, the SLI says nothing. That silence lasts a week. For that week, it's the loudest thing in the house.
- The SLI's Sunday has no plan, on purpose. The LIE schedules a strategic review across the middle of it. Each is appalled on the other's behalf, annually, with no movement on either side.
