EII and EIE: extinguishment
EII and EIE care about the same things from opposite directions. Extinguishment pairs identical elements with every attitude flipped, so EIE and EII agree in principle and undo each other in execution. The compatibility works in small, spaced doses and not much beyond them.

§2 In practice
Where it clicks
- They both work in people, just at different magnifications. The EIE reads the crowd from base Fe; the EII reads the one person from base Fi. When they hold a case conference about a struggling friend, it covers both the room he's losing and the self he's losing.
- The EII's ignoring Fe sees through the EIE's staging without getting swept up in it. It doesn't punish the stagecraft either. That makes the EII the rarest kind of audience: someone who can't be played and stays seated anyway.
- As the EIE's creative Ni narrates where the friend's marriage is heading, the EII's demonstrative Ni quietly confirms the timeline or shifts it by a season. The forecast gets better, and nobody claims authorship.
- When the EII names what someone could still become, that creative Ne lands in the EIE's demonstrative slot. Uptake is instant. Within a week, the EIE has built the person a stage for it.
- Long walks and letters suit them better than shared committees do. At a distance, each can receive the other's readings of people as material instead of rival verdicts.
Where it grinds
- The EIE warms to a cause and demands the EII take a side tonight — mobilizing Se enjoying itself. Se is the EII's vulnerable slot. So the EII agrees at the table, then unravels for the rest of the week, where the EIE never looks.
- A regular dinner hour is all the EII's mobilizing Si asks for — a small appetite, gently held. But upkeep is the EIE's sore spot. The request lands as an accusation about what the mission is costing, and the hour keeps moving.
- At the funeral, the EIE builds a communal wave of grief that carries the room. The EII sits in the corner with the widow. Privately, each concludes the other missed the point of the day.
- Over dinner, the EIE recruits the whole table into the cause. By dessert, the EII has quietly told two guests they don't have to sign anything. The room empties. The EIE feels sabotaged in public; the EII feels each guest was protected in private.
- The rigor each one wants, the other can only perform. The EII wants a verdict on the job offer and gets the EIE's role Te — confident for exactly one question. The EIE wants one clean rule and gets the EII's role Ti — correct, but a level too shallow.
