EII and SLE: conflict
EII and SLE press on each other's sorest seat without meaning to. Conflict is the hardest of the sixteen: what SLE and EII each do most naturally is what the other can least afford to hear. The compatibility does not improve with closeness — this is the one relation that gets worse.
Hardest. Don't force it. Your lead function presses squarely on their sorest spot, and theirs on yours. Intriguing from a distance. Up close, it wears you both down.

§2 In practice
Where it clicks
- When the landlord stalls, the SLE resolves it in an afternoon. The EII yields in any direct contest, so watching force used cleanly on their behalf gets filed under weather: impressive, elemental, happening somewhere else.
- The EII sees what the SLE's difficult teenage nephew could become, and says so plainly. The SLE is blind to that private layer. They hear an intelligence report from territory they can't enter, and they believe it.
- From the SLE's creative Ti, the EII gets the argument in three moves: what to claim, what to concede, where it ends. The EII's own Ti is short-breath role work. The loaned structure wins the insurance appeal.
- Just as the SLE is about to win a fight expensively, the EII's creative Ne offers two exits. The SLE considers for a moment and takes one. The campaign ends up costing half of what it would have.
- In a crisis, with the roles assigned, this pair is formidable: the SLE takes the door, the EII takes the frightened people behind it. Privately, both prefer the crisis to the dinner party.
Where it grinds
- The SLE raises their voice a notch just to settle a small question fast. The EII's vulnerable Se folds on the spot. They agree, then carry the encounter around for days — and the SLE learns nothing until the note appears on the table.
- The EII's objections are silent: warmth withdrawn, a door closed gently. The SLE's vulnerable Fi can't detect any of it. The grievance compounds at an interest rate the SLE doesn't know exists.
- Arguments get conducted in the SLE's Ti: define the terms, concede the point, close. The EII manages the format briefly, and it wears them down. They lose on procedure while right on substance, and eventually stop raising things at all.
- The EII keeps opening the developmental file: who the SLE could be, what the anger might mean. Possibility talk sits in the SLE's role slot and stays tolerable for minutes at a time. The sessions start to read as a slow, soft siege.
- The chores split by force of habit: the SLE claims whatever is visible and immediate, the EII absorbs the invisible remainder. Nobody names that remainder. So the ledger, kept in Fi, never gets audited — only felt.
