EII and ILE: supervision (EII supervises ILE)
EII and ILE are not on level ground: EII leads with the element ILE is weakest at, and presses on it without effort or intent. Supervision has a direction, so ILE and EII live in the same relation differently — one feels watched, the other feels interested. The compatibility is asymmetric.

§2 In practice
Where it clicks
- Ideas are their shared dialect. The EII's creative Ne keeps pace with the ILE's base Ne and adds the human angle the ILE skipped. The conversation is the best-furnished room in the relationship.
- The EII reads the ILE's half-finished projects as potential instead of failure, which is the one reading the ILE needs and rarely gets. And the EII means it. It isn't a technique.
- When the EII has to argue policy at work, the ILE's creative Ti builds the case in a single evening. The EII delivers it gently, in their own voice. It holds up under committee questioning.
- The loud calendar appeals to neither. Si is suggestive for one of them and mobilizing for the other. The good evening is tea, one absurd hypothetical, and no performance required of anyone.
- Out of the ILE's hundred schemes, the EII picks the one that would help a particular person. Build that one, for her, they say. Occasionally the ILE does, to real and specific effect.
Where it grinds
- Do you realize what you said to my sister, asks the EII's base Fi, never raising its voice. The ILE truly doesn't. Reconstructing it takes the ILE a whole evening and still misses the injury.
- The relationship's unspoken ledger is the EII's native document. The ILE can't read it. Implied promises, the weight of a canceled visit, anniversaries with meanings attached — the ILE learns about these debts at collection time.
- Define hurt, though, offers the ILE, converting a feeling into a proposition. The EII's role Ti can process the logic just fine. What doesn't survive the conversion is the feeling. That was the actual subject.
- For the ILE, principles are revisable and loyalty is assumed. For the EII, loyalty is the principle. Their argument about the friend who betrayed them runs on two separate sets of axioms, and it never gets held the same way twice.
- Watched daily at the one skill they lack, the ILE starts scheduling around the serious conversation. The EII can predict the avoidance to the hour. The prediction becomes its own ledger entry.
