EII and LII solve with the same instrument for different ends. Business relations are the working-distance kind: tactics transfer cleanly between LII and EII, warmth does not. The compatibility is professional, and it lasts about as long as the shared task.

§2 In practice
Where it clicks
- Their conversations drift naturally into reframing — Ne is the deliberate second instrument on both sides. A stuck career, a difficult relative, or a bad chapter gets turned over until a new angle shows. Each rates the other's angles highly.
- No one in this house ever raises a voice. Se is vulnerable in both stacks, so the household runs on low volume and advance notice. Both of them count that as civilization, not avoidance.
- The LII's definitions hold up under the EII's counterexamples, and the EII's readings of people survive the LII's cross-examination. Each treats the other as a competent check from an unfamiliar department.
- Quiet domestic upgrades go over well in both directions. Both carry mobilizing Si, so a better reading lamp or an earlier bedtime gets received as a real gift, not a fuss.
- When a friend of the household turns out to be a problem, the EII's Fi verdict and the LII's Ti audit arrive at the same exit through different doors. Both find the agreement quietly reassuring.
Where it grinds
- Ask the LII how they actually feel about the friendship in question and they'll assemble a position paper at visible cost — Fi there is role-slot work. The EII hears the effort more clearly than the content.
- Consistent categories matter to the LII, and the job of agreeing falls to the EII's role Ti. The EII signs off on the taxonomy in the meeting, then judges by the person in the hallway. The LII eventually notices the gap.
- The contractor who vanished mid-renovation goes unconfronted for a season. Confrontation lands on two vulnerable Se slots, and each is silently waiting for the other to be the forceful one. Pushing is nobody's job here.
- The LII quietly hopes for warmth supplied from outside — the standing appetite of a suggestive Fe slot. The EII keeps Fe backgrounded and offers steady goodwill instead of shine. The house is kind and slightly gray, and the LII can't name what's missing.
- From a suggestive Te slot, what the EII wants is practical instruction: which account, which form, which deadline. The LII ignores Te and explains the theory of the form instead. The form stays unfiled.
